Hey guys. Thinking of painting my engine covers. I had seen a thread in here previously with pictures of some people that had already done it. Anyone know where I wuld find that thread or would anyone be able to give me some advice on how to go about doing it.

Thanks
Ben

im actually in the process of redoing mine. they are simple to do. to remove them you pull them straight up. i just cleaned mine with mild soap, sprayed them in primer and then used heat resistant paint. simple!

A quick Alloytec
first i used some wax and grease remover, i used the spray can version
then 2 coats of plastic adhesion primer.
then 4 coats of paint i had mixed up at autobarn - has to be flexi, doesnt need to be high temp if your only doing covers.
then 4 coats of clear gloss.

you could probably use less coats, but this worked perfectly, not one blemish, the flexi paint when dry even hides slight paint uneveness.

My VS, crappy picture but you can still see the finish.

Warm soapy water, then one can of Supercheap aerosol. No primer, no clear.
