whether you use 2pak,acrylic,spray cans or spray gun,if it's done right it will last.
first prepsol the items to be painted.
then wet rub with 400-600 wet and dry/or scuff with a light scouring pad.
wipe down with prepsol again.
then spray with plastic primer.
wait at least 10 minutes then spray colour over plastic primer.
then wait 5-10 minutes between coats.
when good coverage is achieved spray your first coat of clear.
repeat the same as when spraying the colour.
make sure you get good flow with the clear so it comes up nice and shiny and doesn't have dull spots from overspray.
when done right this can add a lot of uniqueness to your ride.
iv'e done more than i can remember and it only takes a couple of hours to do.
just be real careful reinstalling all the parts you have painted.
here are some pics below of a couple that i have done.
hope this helps mate,cheers

Thanks heaps. The pics look great and they have been done very well, Would it be worth waiting for the paint to dry between primer, colour and clear like maybe a day? or just till touch dry and also, with the paint will a pressure pack do or do i need to use a spray gun?

did one for customer recently in that supercheap purple multi shade paint looks ok but
two months later he scratches it then starts picking at it
tells me to fix it after he had chipped a large section of it
and he told me he picked at it
last time i paint interior for someone
i will say though after looking at it i had sanded and all that it held on good if
he had not of scratched it it would still be good i reckon :ranting:
now i just fit carbon replacements OR wreckers parts from other better models
is cheaper and doesnt f up if your forgetful and lean over with your belt scratching the arse out of it!~

the paint only needs 5-10 minutes between coats.
the red mica ones in my mazda i done the other day with duplicolor cans from repco.
the gold ones in the missus' magna was done with a spray gun as it is tiger mica with green ghost pearl in the clear.
the white ones in my magna were done with cheap **** $3 cans with no clear about 4 years ago and is still good.
but as mentioned above be careful not to scratch it but if you use plenty of clear it will be fine.

yep.i suggest you use the duplicolor cans from repco etc.they are colours off factory paint codes and many to choose from.
it is good quality paint, they come in a small can or big can.
i use k&h plasti prime it's in a big can,and k&h clear in a big can.
give it a go mate you will be suprised how easy it is.
if in doubt find something similar to what you want to paint(curved rigid plastic etc)
and try the process out on that before tackling the job.
looking forward to seeing pics when you get it done.
cheers mate
