Hey all, i was just wondering if anyone knows what paint i should use to paint the interior plastics on my vt? I want all the plastics around dash cluster, air con, tranny console, and all air vents and rear air vents / console thing to be painted a dark/ deep purple.

Iv heard to wash in soap water then sand down finely then apply 1 or 2 coats of plastic primer allow to dry then 1 or 2 of main paint then 2 or 3 of clear gloss.

Is this method the way to go or is there a different way i should be going about it and also what type of paint should i use?

Cheers, DMAN

i used the touch up paints from places like repco, mines been on there for about two years now not a single issue. i gave it a good scrub down with 300 grit wet and dry then 600. wiped it off with a wet soapy rag and let completely dry. used a plastic primer gave two light coats allowing to dry for an hour inbetween. then 3 coats of colour. the next day i gave it 3 or 4 coats of clear high gloss.

everyone will have a different opinion, i have done this to another car without any problems.

just the method i used, have a look at my pics in my profile if u wanna see it.

good luck
