Hi all,
I'm currently looking at having the door protection moulds/strips painted white, and was quoted $250 for the job. Does this seem like a bit much just to have those strips painted? I did a search on the forums but couldn't find too much relating to whether anyone else had actually done this themselves. Has anyone painted their strips themselves, or should I get it done professionally? I know it's only a small paint job, but I wasn't sure how to go about it because the strips are rubber. Are there any hints or tips for doing the job? Thanks in advance :)

*bump*. Not sure, but if I posted this this morning, shouldn't it still have been on the new posts list? :)

I would pay it ...

I went through and painted mine (When I was younger I was an apprentice spray painter), and for all the work you have to do to them in prepping, and stuff it is worth it to take it too a pro ...

Mine were all messed up from the previous owner... He did such a backyard job that it had pin stripes on them... So he painted over that.... Then must not have prepped it properly, so he put a thick white pin stripe that covered it all (maybe to try and make it smooth) then he painted over that again, and to top it off put on 2 pin stripes (1 red + 1 blue)....

As you could imagine, it looked like **** ... So I spent hours getting off the first layer of stipes, and thinking that I was on to the painted part, I started to rub it back, trying to get it smooth, then after a while I picked at a little bit instead of rubbing it, and found out it was another sticker ....

I got it all off, gave it a quick sand and just sprayed it ... I didn't get to smooth it all out like I would like to, but by the end of it, I just wanted it done, and anything I did to it looks 110% better then how it was anyway ...

I will be doing a whole new re-spray on the car, so am not too bothered about it at the moment ... So many other things to fix up first....
