from memory the calipers are held on by two bolts on the rear. Provided you don't have the brakes on or apply brakes they shouldn't clamp up.
Make sure you whack on some locktite when you're putting the bolts back in.

when i painted mine, i took 1 caliper off and got the shits with it cause it took so long, so i just taped the hose off blanketed the painted surfaces near by and sprayed them,

i took the mounting bracket off and painted those off the car

i painted my calipers red, i just taped up everything and didn't remove or undo the calipers and was ok, didit in a hurry but did 3-4 coats and worked out better than mates that had removed calipers.

i threw a sheet over and in the guards of the ute , then went crazy with a spray can, waited an hour, went and locked the brakes up to clean the discs, then changed the pads. No bolts needed to be undone bar the pad ones.

I just papered and taped everything up and painted them on the car with some left over engine enamel, I read the paint instructions, leaving so long between coats etc. Took about 4 hours to do all four, including taking to the calipers with a wire brush then wiping them over with metho prior to paint. Months later still looks awesum, shiny and no worries.
