does anyone know howd i go about painting my black bumbers on my vt the colour of my car??

i know i would need primer and paint and a spray gun, i already have a compressor.

anyone know how much this would all cost? i recently got a massive dent fixed on my car and they quoted me an extra $400 to paint the bumpers which isnt really worth it.

    all help appreciated

$400 isnt too bad, and if u have no idea what ur doing then i would definatly suggest getting someone else to do it lol. Im guessing ur talkin about the bottom like skirt on the vts how its black as the bottom?

But you will need some primer, some paint, and some clear coat, and a spray gun and some sand paper, 600grit.

Lightly sand back the area you gotta spray, then mask up, and spray a few coats of primer on, then let dry, sand back with 600 grit to get it smooth and remove all lil blemishes and stone dents n stuff, when its all sweet, mask up again and spray few coats of color, prob bout 4 coats, then on goes the clear, do a few coats of that, and then let dry for a few days, let the paint harden for days/week, then give it a good cut and polish.

In my opinion,I don't think it is going to be worth it.
I thought about the exact same thing for my VT,I really wanted it done and was going to do it myself, but time was an issue and I opted out of the idea.
I would suggest to leave it as is and focus on more important ideas.

Spraying the bottoms is a bit of a waste of tym to do it right...you dont require prima...and it depends where youre going to spray it as to wether you take it off or not...to do the job properly and this is why i said its a waste of tym you should take the parts of, you need to knock the shine of the whole bar with 800(dry) or 1500(wet) the get a scotch brite and go over the whole part including the black part...dry blow off and clean with prepsol.. You need to spray down a plastic promotion product to the black area or the paint will flake off, next spray down your colour on JUST THE BLACK PART, try to avoid spraying your whole bar unless your a top notch colour matcher and painter...the base coat will only take a couple of minutes to try should put about 3 coats on they only need to be light...once you make sure the the basecoat is dry tack rag the whole bar and mix up your clear normally 2:1... spray a dust coat down the hit it with 2 good coats...Persoanlly if your set on this idea remover the parts yourself and get the pros to do it they chould charge you less because they would have quoted you for fit and removal...hope that helped

give it a go man u can still drive around while theres bars r off drying lol and u r talkin bout the bottom bumps underneith rnt u? if u r id use primer as the paint will stick 2 it better and give u a better finish after sanding it back and if u got ne scratches or chips u can fill these in plus if u got a light coloured car it helps bring out the colour meaning less coats
