i finally got my hands on some vy ss sideskirts and front bar and got it sprayed.

The thing is that it doesnt match my paint!!

The panel beater reckons that it doesnt match because my paint is faded and that a cut and polish on the whole car will make it blend in better....Mind you the car is only three years old and the paint looks fine to me.

Does it blend in over time or is it just a crap paint job? I'll post some pics up tonight

Polish the rest of your car and see how the difference is then. You'd be surprised how quickly paint can actually fade. The bodyworks may be right, but then again, they could just be trying to cover their arses for dodgy work.

Like I said, polish it all up, and whatever, and then see what the difference is. If it's still a HUGE difference, then I'd be little worried as to what I just paid the bodyworks to do....

I'm a little unsure of cut and polishes, as most commodores have a clear, protective coat over the paint. And when cut and polished, it removes or damages this protective coat, causing the paint fade even faster and other sort of damage to the paint work . A lot of products advertising be clear coat safe though.

Lazy painters. Rather then match the colour correctly to compensate for the faded panels they have just painted it in the oringal colour.

:my: dont cut it!!!!!! ull root ur paint up.... not suppose to use a cut on cars less than 8 years old, well not harsh ones anyway. best thing to do would use a meguairs polish and wax on it and really give it a good buff wen u buff off the polish.

not sure if it will fade it at all though will make it shineyer and brighter.

sounds like a dodge painter hey..

hope that helps
