That is a very drool worthy VP :yeah: Looks nice and clean, well looked after! Good to see you went from VN to VP
Nice ride bloke, alot of potential. One thing that is weird, is that it has Fake SV 5000 wheels, where these not on the car as original?
You got a bargin there for sure, I didn't know the 180 kw machines got a fancy badge on the steering wheel ! or the HSV airbox
engine bay came up MINT!, all the grease is washed away now, cleaned the sump etc, jsut gotta fix the hand brake button, and headliner, then inspect brakes and bushes, before i send it in for a roady.. from the looks of it dosnt look like it will need anything except the usual (wiper blades, etc) found out the LSD works and is nice and tight, about 1/4 throttle pulling out of the servo and i got it full sideways opps well sterring wheels broken guys!, the clips that hold the center on are rooted, so it has no springs means horn is passivly on and the padding dosnt grip the metal either.. its smaller than the calais wheel BUT the centers are the same, so im playing swapsies for now, just have to put up with a bigger wheel for a while unless i decide wood grain is the go but i like looking at the hsv badge as far as i can tell the wheels are factory, it made a trip to the HSV factory so why cant it have geuine SV wheels on it? just fixed the power windows, all 4 work now perfectly what i didnt show so far this will be fixed in a few weeks (he got "stuck" on a pole) over all im staying alaskan white, just get the paint fixed, (bumpers resprayed, all damage fixed) overall the paint dosnt have stone chips etc luckily the VP white was better than the VN white and holds up against the sun awesomely
The pegs that hold the horn button on can be fixed. You get a standard horn botton from a VN and cut the lugs off. Drill a small hole in them. Cut snapped lugs off the wheel and drill a small hole in each one. Use 5 min aryldite and a small metal pin (I used electrode with the flux mostly scrapped off. I has worked a treat with the 2 wheels I've done so far. Else I'll have the horn button! How much?
What i was saying was, the real SV 5000 Wheels have a flush centre cap, the copies had the raised. Which is what i found weird being SV Enhanced. Either way, you have a great start to what i am sure will be a sweet ride
yeah, just took it up the road (200m away) to a 110km/h zone.. gave it full throttle, damn it has a nice note once you jam your foot right down, took my old man for a spin, hes had lots of v8's in his life (VL 308, VN calais 5ltr, vn wagon 5ltr, etc) and he says "dammm goes harder than a normal 5L "
and its not leaking any oil from the engine, power steerings dry tho, might have a leak, not sure yet
Looking good. Give HSV a ring and they will tell you what exactly the car was ordered with. The VPs were 180kW not 185kW. My VP Calais is basically the same - HSV enhanced with the 180kW engine package (yes, they did get the headers and SV airbox), recalibrated auto, SV suspension kit, 16 x 8 'Family' rims (same as SV5000 but with flush centre caps), Momo steering wheel, badges etc etc. Give them a ring and see what they say or plug the Vin into the HSV website. Good luck with it.
very nice pickup man, you know vp ss's rock!! i think me and several other people would have killed himif he stayed with a vn. once you pull a vp apart compared to a vn, you just know theyre better.
They may be better (not that i can see how) but they are dog ugly compared to the VN! Anyway, nice pick up there Paradox, its a nice clean looking car. Even if it is a VP......
