Anyone know what this wire is for in the picture?

I'm thinking maybe seat side airbag? Not sure if it's been disconnected or come apart by someones feet.

There is a tag on it but doesn't say anything other then a few numbers.

Looks like Butt on seat sensor. If airbag related, you would get an airbag light come on in your instrument cluster.

It might be the passenger seat occupant sensor i.e. if someone sits in seat without seatbelt on a chime will sound, and it tells the car what airbags are needed in a crash (I think). It's a small thin plastic sheet with some conducting surfaces in it, attached to the base seat foam (between foam and seat trim).

Edit: just saw 3rspecb's post, beat me to it.

I thought all airbag cabling was shielded while all airbag connectors were a real pain to separate.
I believe it was done like this, specifically so one can't inadvertently pull things apart, you need technique and persistance to get such connectors apart.

no they are just like any other plug, you can unplug an airbag with ease.
the handsfree mic in the roof is harder to unplug than the airbags

Probably coz less handsfree = more airbag.

As others have said, it’ll be for the sensor that chimes should someone sit in the seat without their seatbelt on

All the airbag connectors will be colour coded in yellow
