Was wondering if lowering my ute will effect the payload by much?

I use it quite frequently to haul things around but I would really like to lower it to improve its appearance. The back end seems a bit high for my liking.

Will lowering it reduce the amount of weight I can carry and if so, by how much?

im in the exact same boat as you, ive just wacked on some 18's and want to lower it, but being a bricky, its tough.
ive emailed a few guys. for about $550 theyll lower it and put on rigid springs in the back so it can take some weight, but i guess it depends on what you put in there.

lower aftermarket springs are generally tougher aren't they?
so the only problem would it maybe bottoming out more under the load.
