triple carbies. shave, port and polish the head. extractors, exhaust. better camshaft. if you're pulling it apart then bore the cylinders 20-30 thou and put better pistons in.

have a look at ebay for triple carb sets, cams and extractors and all that. 6 cyl holden stuff is really cheap.
if its possible swap it for a 202, then you could use standard vk injection.

They free up power from your motor. Some engine power is used to run the belt driven fan. Remove the fan and get a thermo fan. In an old street machine tech series they removed the engine fan and upgraded airfilter and got 14 kw at the fly and abit more torque to.

As you said :thumbsup:

But a bigger motor would be the best bet I'd say. Probably do a V6 conversion. Doing major work on a 202 might be costly as in labor and would maybe be better spent on a V6.

One of the larger known car mags did this afew years ago, and then gave the motor away to a lucky winner.....prick.

It was tested in a stock VK, only change to the car was the engine itself, and a stage 2 B&M kit for the Trimatic.

Red, Blue or Black block.....it doesn't realy matter

Blue mtr head, lightly ported, cleaned up and oil galleries opened up a tad.

Blue mtr crank

Black mtr ( VK ) injection system

Crow Cams - cam, valve springs, double row timing chain,

ACL cast pistons & ring set

HV oil pump, with larger pan - 8.5L

twin thermos

Hurricane extractors, with 2 1/4 system, high flow cat & mufflers

ran VERY LOW 13's, 6 of them back to back, then the banjo shreaded itself.

About 6 months ago, we built one for my sisters LJ, with a alloy housed 9inch, keeps the bum together. Has done 1 pass only, 11.97 !


This little combo has alot of potential, given the respect it deserves.

Not really. All 202 performance parts are a hell of alot cheaper then ur 3.8's. Even machining ect is also alot cheaper. If you cant do it urself then be prepared to fork out extra cash on labour. Thats basically the dearest part of the built. By the time you do the stock 3.8 conversion and hand the cash over you could have a 202 worked off its titties that'll put most efi 8's to shame.

high compression yella terra head, decent size cam, twin carbs on redline intake manifold, oversize valves, port the head, flat top pistons and she would get down and boog
