I have a Vr 3.8 it's a HSV exclusive and go's pretty hard for a mostly stock car besides it's exaust, aparently they made a HSV chip for them though I haven't look at my ecu to see if it has one. I was looking into buying a performance chip to get more KW's, any ideas on what chips are best, it was an auto but put a manual gear box in it, so should I buy an auto chip seeing as the auto computer is still in it or should I use a chip meant for manual's???

All advise will be great :D

You can use a auto memcal in a manual but you cant use a manual memcal in a auto.

If you get a manual memcal I think the only difference is it wont have the code for auto, but if you get a auto one it will have the code for the auto but wont be used. Kind of makes no difference really if you are going to keep it manual.
