I have done it again. Another car to the collection!
After recently selling my E3 Maloo for a house, i picked up a VZ for daily use but have really been missing the newer styling.
The plan was to start looking for a nice Sv6 wagon again. Honestly shouldn't have sold my white one i loved it.
Just something to drive to and from work, Sometimes quiet some distances comfortably with a bit of style.

If you haven't seen any of my other Threads head over and take a look :)

Came across this SSV via work and once i seen the interior it couldn't stop looking at it.
Sure enough the next couple of days i had the keys.

Here is my 2010 Series 2 SSV wagon in manual. I believe manual was quiet rare and the Redline interior it was quiet the find!
After driving 4 and a half hours to pick her up and with work the next day i only have a few crap quality photos so far.
If you follow my threads you know how we do this. Clean. simple and bold.
More photos to come on the weekend...

    Year: 2010
    Gearbox: 6 Manual
    Suspension: K-Sport Coilovers.
Engine: HSV Headers and cat, 2.5" X-Force cat back.

    Future plans:
    New wheels.
Complete Cut back to remove all swirls and marks + Protection.
Paint the brakes. Possibly Yellow again. - Done.
Repaint the rear bumper due to a crack.
Replace the gear shifter due to wear.
Cat back exhaust with HSV headers and Cats - Done.
Lowering suspension. Either just springs again or coilovers. Done.
Sound system.I have left over gear from my Sv6 Ute and have the opportunity for cheap gear. - Done.
Possibly more later. I don't really want to spend to much as i normally don't hang onto cars but i'm feeling like this one might stay for a while.

    Back for more updates.

First thing on the chopping block was the exhaust. At first thought the exhaust had been aftermarket once upon time because it seems it had the AMF cat back. Further investigation found the wagons got it for the drone issues.
I picked some HSV Headers and cats up off gumtree on a Friday arvo on my way home from work. Saturday morning set to work installing them before i had to duck to a birthday around lunch time.

Tips are not perfect but will do for now, ill fix them later because i might swap them yet. Had a issue with the midsection hitting the tail shaft. Little adjustment fixed that.

As you can see the stock cast heads are very restrictive compared to the HSV headers. Its very noticable under the peddle and gives a better note.
Now some time Saturday a cat back was listed very cheap that was next to knew and here i am off to Sydney to get it. Couldn't resist but putting it on that night.

Now you might ask why didn't i go aftermarket heads and cats and a 3"? Comes down to price and availability and the fact i can keep the stock tune. For sure i can blow thousands on this wagon but knowing me tomorrow i might find another car i want. This setup only cost me a few hundred. For a wagon i wanted 2.5" simply because i need to drive to clients businesses without being unprofessional. All in all very happy with how it sounds, Loud under the pedal and quiet on the highway. No drone as yet!

Ahah, as part of the deal i got the stock wheels with mint tyres thrown in. I'm holding off replacing the tyres as I'm either getting them repainted or selling them

Stock wheels will look good with the right height, like your white wagon. That one looked shmick without being stupid low

Completely agree! but stock wheels sit to far within the guards for the loom im trying to achieve without touching spacers. That word makes me cringe ahah

    Lets continue the family wagon!

Lets keys.I personally love the idea about the flip key but cant stand when they don't retract correctly. $14 off ebay gets you a new shell as mine was snapped and just needed to be replaced then repaired. Simply just swapping the case so keeping the key its self and the electronics. Saves you getting the new key recut or programming.

Now low. We all know these things need some low. Now i was trying to get away on the cheap side as my Sv6 Wagon was perfect with SSL but stupid me picked the wrong springs and got SSSL. SSSL is way to low for the stock shocks so i left full Bump stops in just cut the rear shock surround so they can compress.

Now it took me 2 and a half hours from tools up to down and away. You could say i have done this 30 or more times ahah

I hated the look at the start thinking it looks to low but i have come around to like it with some more spaced wheels. Now talking shocks as mentioned before SSSL is to low for the standard shocks. I started to look for lowered shocks and ended up buying brand new K sport coilovers because of how happy i was with them in my Sv6 ute. Ill most likely go a little higher so if i need to tow or load the car up the ass wont be on the ground.

Also thrown my chrome wheel net covers on. IMO i think they set black wheels off more then just black, black and more black

Since the Sv6 ute i haven't really kept up with sound systems just been playing a 12" Alpine Type R from one car to the next.
Being a wagon and not a ute not is my chance to throw something decent in that i have been dreaming for a while. Had a decent think how far i wanted to go and the rest is history.
Dropped into a local Audio know instead of online for a change. Was pretty impressed with the range and after chatting with quiet a nice bloke.
I had my heart set on Rockford gear but had been put off by my last set that they wouldn't fix under warranty after the second time they had been sent back.
I settled on Phoenix Gold. I hate miss matching and swapping so went with their premium front splits and some rear speakers and a 4 channel amp.

As normal i like to keep things simple and clean. Now extra lengths have been kept because my subwoofer box will eventually have the amps mounted to the back side ( Behind the back seats ) and hidden so i have allowed or amps to be moved.
My Sv6 Wagon i had everything under in the spare wheel well but due to the massive amount of heat ect i have opted above this time but will keep the fuse under in the spare wheel cutout.

You have to love the odd things you find in second hand cars. The center speaker was thrown in the bin as any speaker that size would be completely uselessto replace. Now keep in mind i may not keep this car for years so i have tried to avoid cutting or modifying anything that will be seen if its removed and sold. Nothing worse then dodge connections and a hack job when buying cars with systems removed. i have tried joining to the old wiring to its a simple plug in for the stock speakers.

Unfortunately one speaker was faulty and will be replaced this week. Getting quiet a bit of alternator whine too what i was promised the converter i got would stop. ill try tackle that during the week.

Now while everything is out may aswell do some cleaning of parts hard to reach. ill do a complete make over when i attack the paint but i cant stand any dirty services for the time being that takes me 5 seconds to clean

Would like to thank you all for the supportive comment! Honestly this is the kinda stuff that makes me motivated put some time in to documenting the progress on these cars to make it a little different to every other Thread.
