Why are we stuffing around? Lets get back to it.
Coilovers arrived last Friday just in time to throw them in for the weekend. i was tossing up between lowered shocks.. second hand coilovers... if they fail ect. Ended up biting the bullet and buying brand new Ksport coilovers simply because they were great value for money! Delivered for $1150. After opening them i was very pleased to find they have redesigned their setup so you could call these the Rev2's that has the front sway bar mount solid unlike my previous versions i had. Whats this mean? When you adjusting the height you DONT have the disconnect the sway bar link. Killer!

Coilover done! God i was glad to get those shocking SSSL springs out. Its a no go on stock shocks! I had setup the coilovers fairly high to let the springs settle for a week before i would re-adjust them. The ride is better then stock if i say so myself.

Sunday i took a trip down to Sydney to meet a very nice young fella that i had kept in contact with about his subwoofer box. Long story short i was looking at his wagon before i brought the SSV and next thing you know im buying the subwoofer box, Subwoofers and bass amp from him for a fair price. If you reading this Thanks again for the killer setup! i really wanted to build my own box knowing i did it but honestly for the price and the hassle of the same design it was made to be!
So we met in the big city as he had traveled many hours to meet and slapped it in to make sure it was all working ok to get me home. #firehazard. Feel free to giggle at the wiring, i left extra lengths on everything knowing i was going to buy the box that it would all be screwed down onto the back.

Mission two. Now there might be some hate with this but its all in order to achieve a look. I have had this idea in my head for a while now and have wanted todo it so now's the time. Feel free to voice your option but when its finished it might change your mind.

Everyone is going for the whole "Blackout" look. Matter of fact even Holden option it on the new VF. This is where i think its going wrong for SOME cars. Black should be used for accents because there is a limit of "too much black" so i'm purposely putting chrome on. Personally i think the Chrome gives a nice POP on the series two like its more modern and smart. The lip on the other hand has been done before in very few numbers on a commodore but more common on other brands. Bare with me, with the wheels i want being 10" all round it should suit it. So far i love it. Makes it different to every other soccer mum.

Back where we left off.
Brakes.... I was tossing up red, yellow or possibly green. I ended up using the rest of the yellow from my Maloo. Turned out good.

Now while the paint was drying i started to pull the subwoofer box out. God the thing is HEAVY.
Now no discredit to the fella i brought it off but i cant help myself with OCD to finished off the box a little better making the air flow for the ports inside and out.

I had been looking around for a battery all week as i had been sucking my stock battery almost dead during the week. Could of got one cheaper online but picked one up local because i didn't want to wait for delivery but paid through the mouth. But knowing my luck unlike my ute where the same model did fit, the wagon didn't. here comes the angle grinder!

Had to chop off one corner but once its back in the car you couldn't tell the difference for when i return it to stock. Also modified the battery terminal to fit my 0 gauge wire lug to fit under the cover as the battery is also much higher.

Now for what ever reason i cant stand black wheels on this car. Just looks crap. Even know i love pentagon's. I put the stock wheels back on and instantly knew the choice is silver. Just popes on black!
IMG_3369_zpsy6qzgfzw.jpg

Now to start the very needed cleanup..
I'm not normally a fan of badges, depending on placement. So off comers the series two badges. But the Holden and the SSV badge will be kept showing proudly. I'm just a killer for clean lines.

Now the wagon is booked in this Wednesday for paint. Front and rear bumper to be done. Possibly bonnet. All have marks that annoy me every time i see them. Plus the rear bar as been hit leaving a ugly split. I started to strip and cut back the paint. The paint was HORRIBLE in the sun in some places. Did this bloke wash it with a rake? ahah jokes aside that's black for you. This will be a on going thing that i will fix as i didn't have time Sunday or know exactly what will be painted till Wednesday for what repairs i need to do. For now i test hit all the car with some hard compound and a nice finisher. Very happy with the results. To be continued till perfect in spots as needed till flawless.

Depends on what kind of wheels they are. Silver will probably suit the theme you're going with and will accentuate the chrome detail

Well that came up bloody good mate! That paint was terrible! Makes such a difference. Good work on the sub box too! Just like a bought one haha.

My vote definitely silver for the rims. What are they?

Looking good mate.

Silver on the wheels for sure, even try a brushed finish if possible. IMO black wheels do look good but is starting to be over done.

Update time!

Lets talk wheels. Been looking at other peoples pride and joys at different setups and colours. Dish? Consave? Colour? I wanted some nice wheels to stand out without getting your typical i just got my P's Bob Jane specials look that some have. No offense to anyone. Browsing away as i do at night and come across some wheels i liked. Inboxed the seller and worked out a price after details were exchanged to find out the wheels were about 3K without tyres for some nice forged 10" front and rear rims. That night picked them up bloody cheap due to tyres being worn and gutter rash. Seller was only selling them due to being defected for the tyres being stretched and a Tyre puncher.
Here they are.

While the wagon was getting repainted i wanted to get the rims done too. Had no option but use my partners i30 for race car transport ahah. Perfect fit.

Gutter rash didn't both me as i always was going to re-repaint them anyways.

Here's the color i chose! Stoked with it! Its a custom silver mixed by my fellow Friend with lots of sparkles with a killer shine and colour turns in different lights.

Gutter rash repair. Rims had no bog only layers of primer and paint and alot of sanding. Bog on the lip of a rim is bad news for fitting tyres. My request.

Got them wrapped in some new rubber 245/ 35 / 20 Front and rear. Could of went bigger on the rear but decided to not mess with scrubbing or pumping the guards yet still get that killer look like the Maloo did. Still had my rear guards trimmed tho not rolled.

Did you want to see the fitted?

Okey fine. So picked the car up from paint Friday arvo and threw the wheels on Saturday. Picked up a set of wheels nuts that are actually lock nuts on all 20 studs. Might put anyone trying to nick them. Paint come out perfect on the car, Had the rear bumper fixed from it being split being reversed into a pole and the crease removed from the previous owner. Whole rear bumper painted after and Front bumper, guards and bonnet done too due to stone chips i want happy with along with front bumper standard marks. As you can see the lip had been removed due to paint. So i brought another...

Now i didn't get to many photos straight away as i drove home and lowered those coilovers to suit the wheels and apply the lip in excitement.

On my way to Brashernats in Sydney i picked up a Walkinshaw intake. It was cheap enough and might free up come extra flow without forking for a OTR that honestly wont gain anything extra for the money untuned. Entered the wagon in the show and shine just to get a killer spot on the hill. Awesome day! Had many people endlessly stopping, taking photos and asking me where can they get the lip from.

Now i'm really not sure on the LS3 HSV cover. had 4 laying around and thought what if.... I actually like it for some reason. Maybe the red and bulky hiding the clutter? Possibly going to remove the LS3 badging if i keep it on so it looks more tiny and not misleading. Ever tho the bonnet is never popped.

Will that intake fit a V6 SIDI?

She looks great.
