Guys I need some help with something. I recently discovered that my headlights had a melted spot and was crazing directly in front of the projectors on my E3.

I have been using Phillips Crystal Vision/Blue Vision. What I would like to know is if any of you VE owners have had similar issues with your globes and headlights. Id prefer only answers from guys who use Phillips but Im interested in similar issues with the headlight itself. If you have had similar issues what did you do and was it resolved.

Note: please dont tell me take it to the dealer as I have done so. Im simply interested in peoples experiences

If you touch the globe, the oil on your fingers heats up and explodes with some globes, which can cause your globe to fail. I had that problem with my ef falcon lights

I've had the Crystal Visions in my SSV's projector headlights for a few years and haven't had an issue.

They definitely feel warmer than the standard but wouldn't have thought it was enough to cause permanent damage.

Mine have been in since aug/sep

And I used them in my ss no problems.

The globes themselves are fine. Its the actual polycarbonate directly in front of the projector

Strange the plastic would be melting, the globe must be focusing the aspheric lense differently, is the light out put a different pattern?
Its still running through the same 55w circuit, the plastic shouldnt be affected. Diffrrent sized bulb?

Sorry to dig up an old thread but thought I'd save from starting a new one on a similar topic.

I do a lot of long distance country driving for work and as you'd expect, the roads are poorly lit and the state of the roads themselves are not the best.

Having said that, can anyone reccomend a globe that will give more light output than the standard globes? Bear in mind I have a SSV so its got the projector headlights and am weary of the plastics melting.

I'm not interested in drawing extra attention to myself by having blue lights or whatever, just want more light output for a safer drive.
