+1. This is excellent. Goes either in CD slot or can be pushed between joins in trim. For example, in the VE it can mount in the vertical dash trim join to the right of the stereo controls. Behind the wiper control stalk.

Yeah but the holder itself looks like arse! Like something from the $2 shop!

I just keep my phone in my pocket. Thats what bluetooth is for... if I go on a journey I guess I will worry about charging occasionally then, but usb from the stereo does that fine too.

Nope. Looks as good as any other I have seen - far better than most of the flimsy air vent clip-ons. The one I have is quite reasonable quality and when installed with phone sitting in it looks OK!

Will try to take a photo in the next day or two.

I've seen some smoothtalker kits for the iphone, there a bit pricey but it looks neat. just seems theres no easy place to mount it without drilling holes.. also has an antenna for reception which seems a nice gimmick. Smoothtalker-iphone[1].jpg

Here are photos of positions for the holder mentioned by lease1 above. I find it easily in reach of the plug for stereo etc and is easily removable. Each to their own 'though!

I use this holder. Slides into the CD holder (who needs CD's with the iPhone);

Car Mount 4 GOOGLE SAMSUNG NEXUS S CD Slot Holder Stand | eBay

And I have an integrated charger cable which interfaces with the factory plug at the side of the headunit and utilises the rear aux to utilise the car sound system. It also gets good GPS signal from the location for navigation.

I also bought this one and it works great. Very good metal construction.
