Recieved a fine in the mail the other day. i got caught speeding by a fixed camera and i was wondering at the bottom of the page it says "a copy of the image may be obtained by sending a cheque for $7.50 to civic compliance victoria quoting the notice number. proof of identity is required for the release of information" my question is to people who have gotten the photo is how much ID is required? should i just photocopy my licences and send it with the cheque or will i need to send more ID?
Photo copy your licence and one other proof of ID, and then take the original and the photocopy to the police station and get them to authorise it. Post that off and you should be right, or just check their website lol.
Jecs, when i got pinged, i just went to the civic joint, and got the pic. but its bull**** that it costs 7.50. they should send it with it.
in SA, we just fax the reverse side of the sheet with the fine to a number saying we request photographic evidence, and within a week another letter with the photo comes in the mail. doesn't cost anything. i would advise *always* request this photo.
yeah, the civic place is in melb and id prob burn more juice going up and back then just paying the $7.50. they should send it with the fine IMO. they are going to makie and extra $220 so whats a couple extra bucks to print a photo? can anyone clarify if they use to send the picture with the fine back in the day (VIC)
Pfffft you gotta pay there! Here when you get the fine it already has 2 pictures on it, one of the whole car, and one just of the numberplate.
You just send a cheque in the mail with a short request, you'll receive a nice A4 letter with cardboard backing within a few days. Alternatively you can go into Civic Compliance on Spencer St and view it yourself for free. Just bring your licence in with you. Otherwise, no ID is required for sending it by post.
hahahaha, the cops did that one here. charged everybody for the pics. then one day someone challenged it and the cops ended up having to re-imburse everybody. hahahahaha i know at one place they always get the photos, they have there very own "wall of fame" (or shame depending how you look at it)
and given the fact that i knew the speed camera is there and i had been going past it every week day for a few months makes it even worse.. i still dont know how i was busted, i triple check my speed everytime but that isnt a good enough excuse. i couldnt blame mechanical error so i just paid it
well you cant see my face... so if i try and argue that it wasnt me they will just say 'prove it' and i cant
rofl... never been caught speeding myself- and i'll keep it that way, my job depends on my license but ye in SA its as stated above- seen how my m8's go through it lol
