Honestly? I would prefer the polks. I think they are a better sounding then pioneer. Also, in my opinion they are both over priced.

But, you really need to have a listen yourself

I have had pioneer gear in my last 2 cars and love it, but it definately a personal choice, I listen to a lot af rock and metal music so bass is not a priority for me (although the 10" sub in the back gives it some kick!) so go with your ears and buy what you like.

Its hard asking for advice between Pioneer and Polk, as Polk isn:t a well known brand. Nearly everyone here is going to suggest Pioneer as they haven:t dealt with Polk. I have and can highly recommend them.

I run a pair of Polk MMC6500 Splits.

Fantastic speaker. Bucketloads of deep, strong, articulated midbass, which is what sold them for me. I went through about 5 or 6 different brands before coming down to the Polk's vs Focal K2P's. In the end, the more natural sounding Focal's just didn't do it for me, they just didn't have that 'life' about them that the Polks brought out in my music. The focals were $700 vs the Polk at $450.
