I typically use Pirelli dragon sports on my Calais. Being 20 / 245 /35 they represented good value at $300 per tyre.

They are no longer making them and the new version is called Powergy. I can get them at $350 per tyre.

Any feedback on them?

I understand the Michelin pilot sports are amazing, but at $550 per tyre as a daily driver I’m concerned about such a soft compound and having to replace them in a short time frame

Cheers

Looks like the Master Of Dodgy, Tempe Tyres, has the Dragon Sports still in stock at $280 apiece.

You're looking at the Pilot Sport 4 as a "better competitor" to the Dragon Sports, not the 4S ... the 4S will be $500 per corner, but the 4 should wear no worse than those Pirellis while being more grippy. But at the moment they're still $150 apiece more exxy than the Dragon Sports.

A number of retailers still seem to stock them.

I bought a set back in June.

I was looking at the sport 4s at about $550 per tyre.

I’ll see how the Powergy tyres go, they are supposed to be more grippy than the dragon sports. If they are the same as the old next round I’ll go pilot sport 4s.

Dave. I have a VF Calias V S1 as well. I picked up 4 x Michellin pilot 4s in the 245/40ZR19 98Y for $1634 fully fitted in Jan 2022. Awesome tyres. Blown away (pun intended).

Maybe you can get em cheaper? Safety first with high horse power.

I’m running 245/35/20 so a little dearer.
