are ecotec and l67 pistons exactly the same, or are l67 better?

l67 are better they have a ceramic coating on top of pistons.

ok cool. i am after some hypereutectics for a rebuild, so would i use ones to suit an ecotec then?

if its an ecotec yes use ecotec pistons if your turbo or supeercharing i suggets looking at forgies

ok. i thought hypers were better than forged? its for an l67.

hypers aren't necessarily better cost v performance is about on par with forgies but for all round best piston you can buy forgies are the way to go (yes theres probably some super piston out but were talking about street cars here)
Forged are stronger with tighter grain than hypers though hypers are good they can be brittle not the best piston for boost if i was doing a n/a setup i'd look at hypers over forgies.
Forged are better for boost and tend to run a bit cooler more resistant to detonation.

im also looking at some new pistions what price can you get the acl's at?
im currently looking at the je ceramic forgies would like to see the price difference.
