Oh god. You shouldve been going to next/plastic 3 or 4 years ago when it was actually good. Now its just a bunch of skinny jean wearing faggots. Used to be one of the best heavy metal bars in the city. Now that place - along with bang - are avoid at all costs unless your looking to hook up with underage emo chicks.

    +100

I used to finish work on the Saturday night at 11pm, be on a tram by midnight and hit Bang shortly after.
Used to stay till close, then stumble up Bourke st to the 24 hour Hungry Jacks. After that, it was off to work at 8am for a 10 hour shift lol.
    Those where the days!!

Bang, next ect ect used to have a really good mix of people, but as above, its more and more full of skinny leg wearing emo's duds and gals.

Next was awesome 3/4 years ago, I was actually a host at Next and later become one Switch. The Metal room was always packed, played good music had great drink prices, the regulars were treated with respect by the bartenders and security and it was a great place to drink/meet up with mates etc etc. They slowly moved the metal room to the top level which was horrible and started playing really shocking music in there, the drink prices doubled at some stage and it just turned to crap. All the usual people that went left to go to Switch, Back in the Day and Dv8 and the metal room got worse and worse. From what I hear now its pretty much extinct and its all Pop punk/Emo.

Bang...bang is just the bottom of the barrel and is run by the guys who do Next and Plastic.

Yeah we used to do the same thing on Thursday nights.

I finished work at 8pm Thursday night, would drive home pick up all my mates, pre drinks at my place then off to Next. Left about 4:30 am stumbled down Swanston for Maccas with whatever change we had left over.

Saturdays we used to hit Switch which was at Casey's at umm Glenferrie St. We used to walk up the road to the train station about 4ish for the 6 am train Sunday morning. Was brilliant.

Next was good because the regulars were treated real well. If you were there every week you were given free drinks, double shots, let it for free, on busy nights allowed to skip the que.

Is Gas still going? That place was hell dodgy. I think it had to do with all the 5T looking asians in there.

PS Home is WAY better... although last time I was out in a Sydney nightclub was about 4 years ago..

EDIT: I just realised this thread was about Plastic in Melbourne, not Sydney. B'oh...
