VZ Berlina V6
Hey everyone,
I wish my first post was a bit happier but I bought a 06 Auto Holden Berlina VZ Wagon a few months ago. The past few weeks it has had a few error codes come up. One of them is ABS fault and the other is Powertrain Fault. I got my dad to check the codes and they said that Fuel Bank 1 and 2 were at fault. The ABS fault comes up when I'm stopped at traffic lights or when I get home just before I turn the car off and the whole car shuts down and restarts. The Powertrain fault did the same thing. It always says the system check is OK. One time when I filled the car up completely it stalled twice before starting. My father in law reckons we need to change the intake manifold gasket and the PCV valve. We have also changed the oil twice since it was purchased in February and it was disgusting and looked like it hadn't been changed in several years (even though it had been changed only a few months earlier). If anyone has any other suggestions or decent mechanics (price and workmanship) in Perth it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Checking codes is not always the answer as I found out when my mechanic scanned my wagon and told me it was showing right front hub problem, but with an "I am not sure " look on his face he told me to change the oil pressure switch LOL which I did but it did not help, so I borrowed a cheap scanner from the neighbour and it showed the problem to be an O2 sensor.
Changed sensor and no more bells and whistles.

Do you have a second remote you can use cause I have trouble with my older remote.
It starts the car then stops immediately and I have to remove the key, lock and unlock the car and then it will start.
Worth a try before you start throwing money at it.

Depending what part of town your in my old housemate is a good Auto electrician down in Byford and has a commodore specialist performance shop next door.

Given its left an right bank that's coming up I'd be blaming a fuel pump ,dirty filter or failing regulator before the injectors.

With the tools they have they'll be able to check live data and see it's fuel pressured and the 02 sensor readings to indicate if it's running lean.

I'm up in Beechboro and have a full spare set of injectors you can have. They've been out the car for six months. I had a random cylinder misfire detected.

At the time there was a guy who bought a heap of stuff at auction. I got genuine coils , plugs , intake gasket, injectors and a throttle body for $400 so I just replaced everything while I was there.

It was the coils in the end , 2 had gone white and there was a tube seal leak in most with oil down the hole. So as far as I know they're good , but I'd be doing a diy clean of them before I fitted them if it were me.
