That is the heater tap. Just reattach the hose and make sure the clamp is tight. It is possible that the hose needs replacing, that is why it popped off in the first place. Look at the hose where the clamp is and see if it is swollen and out of shape, if so, replace it as soon as possible.
Yeah definitely you're heater tap, looks like part of it has snapped off and should be in the hose. Pop down to you're local super cheap auto, we sell them on shelf for about $45
You can buy them from $20 upwards on eBay with free delivery. A good quality Dayco one is $30 with free delivery.
It could have been just a loose/ dodgey pipe or heater tap & thats why it blew, Or it could be something a bit more complex. When you put all the new parts on just keep an eye on pressures ect, Just to make sure you dont have any gasket problems that have arrised that may have caused higher than normal pressure. Make sure to bleed it really good with the heater on! Get all the air out! Good Luck!
This is a common problem with the VT VX heater tap . They get brittle over the years with all the engine heat and crap that builds up in them . I replaced mine at about 190,000 kays
