Hello, first time poster long time commodore owner. My current car is a 2000 VX. I had my pride and joy VX commodore fitted with Auto Gas (LPG) at Perth AutoGas two weeks ago. After I got it back i noticed some strange noise as if something was rubbing against the chasse (spelling?). This happened only on start-up when I drove the car forward. I took it back and they fixed it, only after I kept pushing the guy to do so because he kept saying ‘I don’t know what it is, and I might not be able to fix it’. Even though I don’t know anything about car mechanics I virtually had to hold his hand for him to find the issue. I then drove on the freeway and i saw the engin light flash for quickly. just that once an never came back. A few days later I took the car to my mechanic for a service and checkup. He is an ex-holden mechanic and a holden ‘specialist’. He has always been good to me and my baby. He changed hoses and leads and spark plugs. NOW this is where the issue is occurring… After this I drive my car at very very slow speed, my car ran really rough, as if my car is slightly misfiring every few seconds. Not on idle, just when letting it 'roll' in D(drive). Then, I was driving on GAS, turned a corner and the car engine shut off. I came to a standstill and restarted. Ever since then the car is running even rougher on Petrol & GAS. Now its happening if I am on idle too, in D and N and P. I took it to my mechanic today and he read the error code: Fault Code: P0200 FUEL INJECTOR CIRCUITS FAULTY My mechanic says it is very possible that it is a common error once GAS is fitted. But even when he cleared the memory and started the car on only petrol the code came back straight away. He advises me to take it back to Perth AutoGas. Can anyone please help? I know this autogas guy will try to shift the blame. If I can at tell him what the fault could be and if anyone has had simular issues please let me know! I belive the GAS install is Parnell
Welcome to LPG... (& this forum) Did you happen to hear a bang at any time through this saga? Perhaps your purge hose has come loose? I had this happen... check out my thread: http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/showthread.php?p=562305 Cheers
Thanks, i checked out your post. No, no bang. Just engine stopped but the issue was already happening at the time. I will certainly ask the AutoGas 'expert' to look at the hose. IF ANYONE else can help me or share comments that would be awesome!
Anyone Else Help? Hi, I see so many people looking at my post. Is there anyone who can share some thoughts too?
I think it's more of an 'I don't have a clue' issue, but people are looking because they maybe able to help. Check each injector plug to make sure they are tight. It may be a problem with the actual fuel solenoid because when you switch it to gas it turns off the injector circuit-well it's supposed to. It could be running rough because the injectors could still be intermittently putting a bit of fuel through while its on gas. The petrol issue could be the solenoid switch playing up not letting them pulse correctly.
I had gas on my cat VT had lots of problems took the gas off and took all the wireing to the gas out and put a second hand computer in it and it has been running perfect now ,,,it could be the computer needs to be dino tuned but gas is not to good in VT VX ,s Glow
how well does it run on petrol? does it have that misfire at really low speeds on petrol too? is your gas system a mixer or SGI setup?
