I have a plug and connection under my MC. Anyone know what this two wire plug is used for? I think it falls off as the plug on the harness is damaged. I noticed it had fallen off yesterday, unless the garage never fitted it when they replaced the MC.

It's not for the brake switch on the bottom of the master cylinder is it?

I thought the brake light switch was on the pedal? Is that the switch for the lights? If yes I need to figure out how to keep it connected.

Not for the tail lights, it's the brake warning switch that lights up on the dash to tell you your brakes are low or there's something else wrong. Once the piston in the master cylinder travels a certain distance it makes contact with a switch and turns that light on.

Basically its' a low pressure switch or as Holden used to call it, a "Brake Fail light" in the bottom of the speedo's in the late HG models. This continued on for all these years.

I always laugh about that warning light, if your foot is on the floor and the car ain't slowing down much (or at all) it should be enough to realise the brakes have failed ....

Sadly there are people in this world that need to be forewarned that a packet of nuts 'may contain nuts'.
