Popping from Carb & Stalling etc..

Im completely stuffed on this one..

I had a recent rebuild on my Black 308. (stage 3 cam, 600 Holley etc..)
It basically stalls on idle and stopping whilst driving.
It also backfires from the carby when I accelerate.

Ive checked the timing gear marks and changed the plugs etc but nothing..

Any help would be appreciated...

sounds like a lean backfire, check the tune dude

sounds like your running Way too lean, try upping the fuel in your mixture and check the points gap. if that doesnt work check leads dizzy and spark plugs.

If all else fails with the tune/dizzy etc,Check your rockers are torqued down correctly & that all the pushrods are in good working order.

also on the holleys you can adjust the acelarator pump it might be adjusted wrong check this out it helped me heaps

you said "any help" so here goes

you getting any power at all? i.e your dizzy isnt 180 degrees out is it?

did you check to make sure you were nine teeth on the timing chain when you put the sprocket back on?

what degree BTDC is it?

your dizzy any good? hei? points? if hei you got the right coil for it?

vacuum advance correctly set up?

sounds like a timing issue to me.
