ive just bought a 97 series 2 VS and it has a fair popping noise through the air filter/box when i accelerate,but when i gradually accelerate (slowly) its fine,any ideas what this could be,could it be dirty injectors?.
No gas,it also has a popping noise through the exhaust when its in park and revving.though the noise sounds louder through the air filter box than it does through the exhaust,and its like its harder to start,similar to a distributor thats been advanced a tad too much.
how many kms has the car got? does it do it when u run premium fuel or only standard? whats the service history like?
cars got 224,???k`s,only run it on standard fuel at the moment,and not sure of the service history,only got the car about 2 days ago.
its probably time for a service, get new leads, plugs, oil and trans oil, etc etc etc. From memory, i think there was some issues with the cams on the ecotecs loosing balance or wearing down. But i think that was more on the series one.
ok,thanks for that,i`ll give it a service coz i dont know when it was last done,so all the better,besides that the engine sounds perfect,no problems at all out of it.
