7hdd is just a 1997 4l60e, essentially the same guts as a vn th700 except for the valve body and main transmission casing and electronically controlled, over the years gm changed a few minor internal components, 2-4 servo, boost valve, pretty much anything from a vn to newer model commodores with a 4 speed auto is basically the same main driving internals with a few minor modifications as they ironed out the bugs. For a daily driver they're a good trans.
