Going through some options with my installer at the moment (tax time, yay :)) going into a VXII R8

Pioneer DEH-80PRS or something else combined with Audison Bit ten D
Active front stage: Audison Voce AV K6, Hertz Mille, Hi Energy HSK165 or 165XL as I like my metal heavy and loud, but also Pendulum/Eagles/etc depending on my many moods :p I'm leaning towards the HSK 165XL for the added midbass for kick drums and bass guitar.
    no rear fill
Audison LRx 5.1k or AV 5.1. Possibly Hertz HCP1D and HCP4D as options.
Single Hertz HX300 or possibly two HX250 and run the sub channel at 2 ohms.
Possible 2nd battery behind amp mount.

Just waiting on some quotes for the parts and see how that fits my budget. I might even skip the hi end audio and bolt a PD blower on and listen to that bad boy instead yet. Bloody good to have these 1st world choices!!

Full install with baffles for the front woofers, custom sub box and amp mount, Dynamat inner and outer door skins, boot and as required where rattles develop, tweeter pods etc.

Why do you want a bit ten with a good deck? imo fine tuning beyond basic tuning won't return same results as better components.

Pioneer DEH-80PRS or something else combined with the Bit ten D. That something else could be anything! I also fail to see why I would buy a HU with dual 16 band graphic EQ and then completely bypass that with a processor. It's one or the other. Audison Bit ten D is obviously far superior but is it overkill when I could get solid results with the (cheaper) Pioneer? That's my dilemma the store owner is helping me with. We will put together the system on paper and go from there.

As I said, I might yet end up with a PD blower and retune at Active Automotive...

Or do you mean skip the processor and go for better speakers? Not sure which way you were saying that?

Sweet as bro sack. Out of curiosity, would you recommend the cheaper option of Pioneer or a decent HU with $800rrp Bit ten D? I don't plan on entering comps, but wouldn't mind just one to see how it goes, but then again I am a bit of an audiophile.... Yamaha 7.1 RXV-3800 running bi amped/bi wired Bowers and Wilkins system 683. I like my musak!

Pillars & Doors are finally completed, 2 sets of RE Audio XXX splits powered by a Hifonics Zeus 1000.4 using RE's crossovers.

Boot setup is still in progress. I currently have one XXX 12" powered by a Hifonics Zeus 3000.1 It is peaking 51hz with around 1400rms after box rise. My pb (personal best) is 141.7db with drivers side door 1/4 open and 140.9db doors closed/windows up.
