hey guys my series 2 ve ssv sedan is leaking a bit of power steering fluid, looking like its coming from the return line on the passenger side of the radiator (might just be the hose clamp that I can see) any chance this has happened for anyone else and what you did to fix it? cheers
I take it you have got under there and seen in behind the front bumper and K-frame from the wheel well?
You can remove the hose and trim off 30mm and re-instal. There should be only just enough slack to allow it. Check first. Mine had a bit of play.
The cooler is part of the AC Condenser so I hope that's not the leak.
If you remove the line where the hose clamp is, a fair bit of oil will come out so if you can get a bit of hose the same size and shove a bolt in one end, then when you pull the line of the condenser you can quickly shove that on to cap it.
On the other end, do the same but you'll have to plug it with your finger and then shove a bolt in.
I wouldn't use a hose pliers/clamp, because the hose will be brittle.
Trim off the crud bit of hose, and then quickly plug it.
Might pay to get a new hose clamp too. You can get one from Bunnings in the retic aisle for a dollar or two.
Have something to catch any oil under there and give it a wipe after. Top up the fluid after if you need.
