Having sourced a new pump to put on the old Ecotec, I just wanted to see if there's anything I need to do out of the ordinary in replacing it?

My only main concern is undoing and doing up the high pressure line nut at the back of the pump. What's the best way to attack this?

Cheers

.. for the high pressure hard line
use a pipe (or split) spanner and NOT multigrips!

What ever you do dont round that nut...

That's what I'm bloody worried about... this will be pump number three on this car, so the nut has already seen some wear and tear!

I've got flare nut spanners, normal open ended ones too... just wondering if it's easier from top or bottom...

I didn't have much trouble with mine other than having enough room to swing the spanner. Hardest nut by far was the hard line connection to the rack.
