Hey guys I have a vx 2001 when I turn corners .my steering pump I think . It makes a clunk noise sometimes . Is it wearing out ? Of so how much to replace and install?
Power steering pumps don't tend to clunk when they're worn. They whine. For clunks on turning, I'd be looking at sway bar bushings and strut tops.
Yup this is what mine is doing at the moment. My mechanic said replacing the steering rack would do the job but obviously he was wrong. Def check the front suspension components (bushings not cracked/missing etc).
