Quick question, i keep blowing pumps, my lid has the long piece snapped off. My guess it needs this to operate properly. Is this correct?

Probably needs it to stop it swirling the fluid around and sucking air?

I have owned several VP/VR/VS etc, not one of them has the stork complete, no problems with the pumps either, I would say you have a bigger problem somewhere sorry.

Are you blowing new pumps, second hand ones or rebuilt ones?

Ah ok, so far so good. It must of been my power steering rack. This pump was making alot of noise for the first 2 days, but i guess thats because it hadnt been used in about a year and been dray for just as long. Reco rack and all new lines, hasnt blown yet, if it does, came prepared. I have a seal kit plus brand new pump rotor and vane kit.
