Thinking about running manual steering in my VN, a VL s2 manual steering rack should bolt right up? correct me if im wrong, also pros/cons of them both. I just dunno what to do =[
airstrike looked into this but had a few issues, the manual rack has a different input shaft so it doesn't bolt straight up to your excisting steering wheel shaft and he had a lot of trouble tracking down the correct coupling for it. also, doesn't the VL have a different wheel track? you will also either need to find a shorter serpentine belt or fit a idler pulley where the excisting pump is fitted to use your excisting belt
Why not just get the power steering pulley for the gilmer drive?????? Would be a lot cheaper and a lot less hassle.... and you still have power steering... Ive done it, if you have any questions feel free to ask
