On my drivers door of my VS one of the rivets has broken that holds the regulator. The window tips over when I try to use it. The regulator flex's etc when I use it. Is there an easy way to fix this?

Your local holden dealership should be able to supply you with the correct rivits, also while your there change the white window sliders as they will fail soon also, might as well do it all at once.

Have you had this problem to? Is it hard to fix?

My issue is the regulator has bent a bit and the broken rivet hole does not line up with the hole in the door.

I did the front windows in the Senator.
I replaced all the rivets with bolts and nylon nuts.
The regulator was moving, rivets not that far from braking.

Have you had a look at the actual door, behind the trim?
Is it able to be bent back?

I'd try and bend it back and use boltsto replace the rivets.
Check the pass side to see what it should look like.

Also as seannatt said while your goin, replace the felt slides for the glass, makes heaps of difference.

Thanks for that. You wouldnt know what size nuts and bolts you used do you? I think I can bend it back. Yup Ive got the trim off so I can work out what is going on.

Do they use rivets to save money or is there a reason they do it?

when i replaced the window reg on my vl back in the day, the place gave me screws instead, had to drill out the rivets to remove crapped reg. i guess diy screws are easier than finding a large rivet gun.

If 1 rivet is broken, & the window is creeping out of alignment, then i would guess there are more than 1 broken.

The rivet head may still be in the door, but it's broken.

I have used stainless rivets this time, with a washer.

Cheers, Col.

i have the trim off. One is broken off and one is loose. I will replace all of them once I have worked out the best way.
