Hi,
I've got the obligatory wobble in my balancer on my calais. I've been offered a new powerbond balancer for cheap, just want to make sure it will fit. Powerbond PB1117-SS Race, not underdriven. Is this a direct replacement? Is anything else needed like different sized belts etc or some extra steps when fitting? Thanks, google hasnt helped.

Should be ok , have seen those numbers used before. I am using PB825 std replacement from Mace Engineering, as you said you have the race type.(the numbers assigned to the balancer vary)
Search harmonic balancer VE on here, there is a lot of useful info.
Mine cost $220ish delivered to Perth, what price was the race one you have?

Yeah, the race one will be more than fine. (Ive been running mine now for around 1 month, no problems).

Definitely better than the stock / factory one.

If fitting yourself, grab an ARP bolt from GM Motorsports as well.
(Makes fitting the thing up sooooooo much easier because of its length - much longer than the factory bolt)
So you can use the bolt to wind the new balancer on, instead of trying to tap it on with a hammer.

Had mine fitted today, no more wobble or belt squeal.
The mech told me it was VERY tight to get off.
