powertrans alarm ??

Hi all my vz had powertrans alarm go of was running really ruff then next day fine but alarm still on. The auto shop ran reader sead miss fire and trying to flog me 600 to fix. How do I check witch coils are bad?. Also my car really hard to start after filling up the fuel tank ?? Any one else had these problems ??

$600 sounds like a lot of money for that. Others on here have posted how to check which coil is the dud one. I would recommend doing a search of "check powertrain" and you should find a lot of threads and responses. You should be able to find the ball park cost as well.

plugs $80, coils aren't cheap $75ea , plus labour $600 not far of the mark,

Scan tool should tell you which cylinder is misfiring, you should only need to replace one coil.
No point replacing all the coils.

at least do all plugs, as a start, then look at coils, scan tool will tell which cylinder, not if plug or coil, how many k's since they were done
