hi guys.
i am looking for a little info as to the price value.

trading post and car sales have me a little 'up and down' - so to speak.

i am looking at buying a 99 vt berlina

ecotec v6
auto
velour trim
power everything
fe2 suspension
vt hsv clubsport bodykit
17" vt ss rims

it's got 140,000 on the clock and is the car of a mechanics wife.

if you need any more info please tell me what to write.

i likke the car but i dont want to be spending 2 or 3k more than i should.

cheers in advance.

Jazack

hey mate, i was in a similar position a while back now...the VT Berlina's have dropped in price massively in the past 1-1.5 years for some reason. for a 1999 VT Series 1 Berlina with 140K you would be looking at $9500. the rims & bodykit might add some value to the car, but with the price of VTII Berlina's falling, that shouldnt really be a bargain point. the fact that its owned by a mechanics wife is good, but holds no real value. if it has a full service history (fully stamped) that is what matters. I would suggest you go a VTII or even a VXI Berlina (better value for money). have a look at red book for values of cars (dont use car values on car websites - they are mostly driven by red book anyway). the FE2 suspension is good, but with VT's you'd prob. have to get a camber kit (roughly $400).

Cheers,

It's a series 2 VT, not a Series 2 VX..

The adjustable control arm was introduced to the series 2 VX...

1999 can be either Series 1 or 2...series 2 is obviously slighty more expensive. you will need a camber kit for a VT because they have bad camber (excessive tyre wear on inside rear tyres). this was only solved with the VXII i believe (possibly series 1 VX). a 4point camber kit will cost you a few hundred. if you are buying privately you would be looking around $9500 (if its a series 1), give or take a grand or so.....
