    Hi guys,
I just got my 03 VY SS yesterday, and i have a few questions about it... i'm not sure if any of the things i'm noticing are normal for holdens or not? This is my first holden :)

    1. The diff clunks at times when i clutch out
    2. The powersteering is fairly noisy. My friend has an 04 caprice, and hers isn't as noisy, but still has some noise. I checked my power steering fluid and it is black! Hers is yellow-ish. I think i also noticed a little thing floating on the top of the fluid. Is this normal?

    Thanks,
    Adam

Try when you are changing gears take revs upto about 2500-3000rpm and see if clunk is still there. Mine seems to do it at low revs more but bring revs up a bit and its as good as gold:). These things dont use anymore fuel if you use more revs between changes than if you change earlier allowing engine to labour.
Try it and see how you go.

Hi guys, just an update it isn't the power steering fluid that is black, it's the brake fluid... which i think is still not normal.
Also, the diff does do it more at lower revs.

The diff problem is quite common. I had mine replaced under warranty at only 40,000 km! Didn't cost me anything, but it was an $1100 exercise they tell me.

If it's anything like mine, it'll get a lot worse trust me!
