whats the correct way to reset the computer? ive read a few ways on here, but ive just reset mine by taking the engine fuse out for a minute or so, then gone for a 2 minute drive, but things that ive fixed (new parts) are still coming up

eg- RH oxy sensor and crank angle sensor

also a new one, 'no reference while cranking' whats that all about?

Resetting the ECU should clear the codes but I think it clears them automatically after 10 starts. The way you did it was the correct way. Just check your connections are secure and not wet.

Removing the 20A engine fuse or disconnecting the battery for a couple of seconds is all the ecu needs to clear the codes. Not_An_Abba_Fan, I think its 20 starts before it clears the code.

If the code is reoccuring after you clear it, there is a definate fault.

No reference while cranking usually refers to the signal normally put out by the crank angle sensor (CAS). Sounds like you are up for a new one, do a search, we cover all the time.

If you are getting the oxy sensor error, I would also be replacing the oxy sensors.

You need to remove the positive battery terminal for around 10 mins.

This will clear all the codes.

pretty sure IBLOWN's right, you need to remove the fuse or disconnect battery for about 10 minutes. if it's still a hassle, pose the question to dr.bob inthe general section
