Yeah that's bad. I have a set of ratchet stands that I have had for 15 years and I won't climb underneath since they let go a few years back, like only 1 min after I climbed out. I don't trust ratchet stands at all since that near miss. I will use them but no longer get underneath while they are in the raised position.
