Does anyone have theses on there vehicles, the Goodyear site states over the 80,000 klm life cycle we can save 400 litres of fuel with normal driving which is just about the same value of the tyres. $1.47 per litre x 400 litres $588.00 and the 215/55/R16 are $220.00 each balanced and fitted inc.
The only way these are getting 80,000km is by using a very hard compound. Might also be how it 'saves' fuel, by reducing the rolling friction with the road. Bugger that. Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max Tire Reviews (39 Reviews)
A few tyre manufacturers have made tyres with low rolling friction to save fuel. They normally have a fairly straight sidewall that doesnt flex as much as other radial tyres so the tyre will roll along the road easier and will not generate as much heat as other radial tyres. You get less tread wear because of the lower temp the tyre runs at but you get a harsher ride.
