that sounds like a sweet deal to me!

also a few things you may wanna removed:

clutch fan (itll get destroyed, almost guarantee it)
intake plenum (the bolt holes make good lifting points)
    slave cylinder and associated tubing
PS pump (leave it hanging, saves you fluid and bleeding)
AC pump (again, leave it hanging. hopefully you didnt release the gas...)

otherwise youre set. i have the opinion that the more you take off, the less chance of breakages/scratches/cut hands and swearing. the plenum will take you 20 mins longer, but itll be out of the way and make a lighter load when lifting.

its FAR easier to lift a bare block than a complete assembly.

Don't think the GTiRs had the VET head? Some N15's had the SR16VE I think. The regular DET heads are pretty similar if not the same to the other FWD ones I'm pretty sure, not worth the fuss unless it's a VE head. Expensive too.

As for the ITBs, the port shape is different on the FWD SR20s, people usually just weld a new flange to the manifold (which you have to do anyway as it faces the wrong direction).

That's a pretty good base. Wouldn't bother with the short shifter. Hated mine sooo much. Wear out your synchros too.

Short shifter is already on the gearbox I'm grabbing, his partner went into labour so waiting a little while for it all to come out. Removed clutch fan and intake shiz, just a pile of oil in the plenum, PS and AC pumps are hanging

To bad it can't be used RWD. All the filter and mounting locations are different.

There are not really any gains from using that head either.

The CAS would stick into the firewall, it's on the back of the engine not the side. The only blanking and relocation conversion plates that exist for something like that are for VE heads. For the price of a RWD SR vs the cost and time of attempting to convert a Pulsar one you would have been better off buying the RWD SR in the first place, can't say there is any gain from using a Pulsar engine, not even a GTiR one. Using a VCT SR20 would net a bigger gain, and it bolts straight in.

Haven't seen anybody do this as of yet.

Just a litle bit of clutch fibre. As soon as gearbox was undone that smell of clutch aha, looks bad too. Oh and the shifter seal was rooted, oil everywhere around it and big split through it

    Coolant lines look good though
    [IMG]

The two mates of mine said that the clutch might have been wobbling because it was so thin and worn. Possibility of causing knock?

If it leaks, I'll fix it. It's only on 90k kms and definitely looks many times better than my one haha. I've heard they show up leaks but didn't change anything on the Ecotec back in the day, with 210k kms. I wasn't going to get injector cleaner but I saw it on the shelf and thought may as well to run it in, if they are bad or anything after I'll get them cleaned, it is also to just run through the fuel systen as well
