Putting a VQ 5L engine in my VS ute

VS commodore ute
Im thinking about putting a VQ 5L engine in my VS ute 1999, just wondering if its worth my while
have rebuilt the 5L, wondering if anyone has done anything similar, or has any tips

Been covered hundreds of times. (do a search, this comes up several times per week :p)

If its an engine from a previous model commodore its not legal.

You need one from a VS (same year or newer)

If you get caught which that one from an earlier car its a huge fine


Although it is a reasonably straight forward swap if you understand the risks.

I am assuming your current ute is a v6 if so you need ECU, kframe, transmission, tailshaft, dash cluster + some others I can't remember
