Ok, Is it easy to fit a VR/S front to a VN. I've seen it done before so I know I need the guards, front bar and headlights but what about bonnet? How much would a professional respray cost (on whole car or JUST changed front bits)

Another question I have is with lowering my front suspension, I know the back is fairly straight-forward, but do I only need to change the springs? or do I need to change the struts and shocks as well? and If i just get king superlows will it keep an even ride height (hate seeing things lowered at different heights)

Lastly how much does the average window tinting cost?

This is what I hope to acheive this/next year so thanks.

You do need the bonnet also... You need all the front end bits as you stated.

Parts Needed: Bonnet, Guards, Front bar, Headlights & Indicators.

Respraying Parts: $150-$200 per guard = $400 + $300 for bonnet = $700 + Front Bar $300 = $1000.

Prices depend on where you go, but average between $150 and $200 a panel, and bumpers and bonnets tend to be double the charge of 1 panel.

Full outer respray: You are looking at around $2000-$3,000 for one in the same colour as your car is now.

Window Tint: $190 to $350 ($220 to $400 as yours is a wagon) depending on quality. Highly reccomend $300-$350 sorta price range at a GOOD tint place for lifetime guarantee and good quality tint.

Lowering: Yes it will keep the height even if you get an even set of King Springs. Struts dont have to be changed unless you want them changed. Shocks must be changed to shortened shocks for the rear only. Front is optional!

Part numbers for matching LEGAL (lowest legal) Superlow King Springs are: Front - KHPR-22SL........ Rear - KHRL-24SL

* Those part numbers are for a V6 Wagon too by the way, so are right for your car, not a sedan or V8.

It annoying how much respaying cost. I might ask my brother as he is a purniture polisher if he has any mates that can do it cheap for me. The paint on the whole car, besides being an off-white is generally in good condition except tiny black dots that seem to accumulate on the roof and bonnet.

Yeah the more I think about it, I might get my brother and myself to do it as he has all the equiptment and is qualified to do it although he has never done it before. It will be getting done next year so I better start saving incase It ends up getting done elsewhere.
Another things is what usually comes off the car for paint. ie windows and trims etc. or are they just masked off? same with doors are they taken off?

For an outer respray the doors stay on... the window trims etc. door handles and mirrors, rear lights and garnish...

The actual window glass stays in as far as I am aware though... Just mask it all up.

If its a full body respray then obviously everything is taken out. Engine, interior etc... basically left with the shell.

Thanks mate. I think I will just do the outer re-spray as its easier and less expensive and just put up with having white in the engine bay and exposed interior parts.
I think it will take a good week to do it ya think?
