has enybody replaced the plactic pvc valve hoses with rubber ones

The original ones are good, but I have heard if you want to replace or repair with rubber hose you just cut the plastic hose leaving about 50mm plastic to slide the rubber hose onto and put a hose clamp around it to stop the rubber hose sliding off the plastic.
