Hey guys, Bought some pedders springs off ebay last week for a very cheap price :D and they should showup tommorow ive got the basic idea of wat to do etc but just need to know the finer points of replacing the rear springs, i will get somebody else to do the fronts i just want to see how much lower these springs make the car before i got fork out 100 bucks to get the front ones put in, anyway i would like to know how you actually get the stock spring out from where it sits after you have jacked it up? btw it is live axle have done about 30 mins of searching on this site and could only come up with rear irs or the replacing the fronts, any answers would be great cheers.

aight, rears are a piece of cake.
open boot, locate the 2 rubber cups above the shocks and pull them off.
using a small spanner or shifter hold the top of the shock( on the flat part) and with another spanner remove the shock nut entirely.
now jack up the car, but not high enough to lift the wheels. the springs may fall out. this is ok. when i did mine, i worked solo, so the shock tops were still through the top hole when bottom bolt was fitted.
support car on jack stands (duh!) and remove the springs if they didn't fall out. undo the bottom bolts on the shocks (one per shock) and the shocks are now out. quickly escort them to the nearest bin - unless of course you're putting them back in.
now to fit new springs (and shocks if desired) mount shock bottom in position, and fit bottom bolt. fit springs (might be best to get a few mates to hold the springs and shock in position) and lower the car enough the hold the springs so your mates car keep their arms. once all arms are removed, drop the car on her a$$. now fit the top shock bolts in reverse to removing them and refit rubber caps.
now stand back, crack a stubby and admire your work

if you're keeping the curent shocks, don't undo the top bolts, it's not needed. just undo the bottoms

very slim chance, but if you're anywhere near me I can do the whole lot. it's **** easy and gives me something to do

I reckon its easier to undo the bottom mounts of the shocks and leave the tops done up if you are keeping them.
Jack the car up and support the body on stands so the diff hangs.
    Jack the diff up.
Undo the bottom mounts of the shocks, pull them off the mounting pin.
Drop the diff down until the springs fall out. You may need to pull them out.

    Installation is the reverse.

ok, i've reworded my other post, and i'll reword this one. removing the control arm does nothing to make the job easier. the control arm is on the front of the axle, the spring is on the top. if you want to go to the extra effort, that's your choice, but it's not needed. the factory srings just fall out if they're not contained
