why is it insensitive?

Its not like it directly hurts victims of the flood.

You'd gather that from the masses of people / journalists whinging about it. Doesn't really make a difference to anyone though

Yeah some places are totally ####ed, most are fine though. They act as if the entire SE QLD populated area is underwater, in reality the flooding is quite localised. CBD, and suburbs on or very near the river, downstream from the dam. Sure, a lot of people are affected, but they're all in relatively small areas.

Goodna and Toowoomba have it much worse than Brisbane, Goondiwindi is under threat now too, just been evacuated today. This is Goodna now: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos...62573282_100000839675127_331800_6157359_n.jpg
And this was goodna before: PhotoMaps by NearMap. Note the green building down the bottom middle, with the silver/grey rectangle on the roof. It's visible in both of those pictures. Barely.

I just got back from helping to cleanup my brothers place. Water had receded nicely - and sooner than we thought. Looking at the picture of the house - who could imagine water went over the roof. In 1974 the water did not breach the doorstep. The property is near Bundamba creek - you can see the creek on the rhs of the top photo - keep in mind the floodwater is still some 10metres high!

Suncorp insurance want an individual picture and detailed description for each item they 'intend to claim on' and will not get anything until visited by an assessor - "no time line is available for when the assessor will be in your area..."

not as bad as the pricks that were selling bread for $10 a loaf?

we were lucky the flood in our suburb stopped at our footpath (we're on a bit of a hill) highset house 2 doors down from us was up to its top floor windows and other houses in the area were well over their roof
