Please don’t open the battery. It’s completely different to an EV battery so there is very little to learn from doing so. But a car battery does have acid in it and it can do some damage if it comes on contact with you. It’s not worth the risk, and the insides of a battery are pretty boring.
Right'o. Won't bother.
Never seen inside of a battery tho, so, curious.
Apparently, EV batteries have multiple cells in em, like metal DVD cases, from my understanding of what I was told.

So ya replace the cell(s), instead of the battery.
*shrug*
Sounds handy.
Dunno, no experience/understanding.

The idea of paying 10 grand'ish for a car battery is a deal breaker for me.
Roadworthy's bad enough, as is.
Pretty good to not pay for petrol, but, eventually, ya gonna need to replace the battery.
Long term/short term.
Never considered that ...

If/when you buy a new EV, buy a spare battery along with the car, & get the manufacturer to keep it until ya need it?

Some kind of warranty/insurance you could organise?

Yeah, right.
I get it.

I've replaced plenty of batteries, never looked inside one tho.
The way old mate was explaining it, sounded like there's half dozen metal DVD cases inside the battery, or something.

I mean, end of the day, no idea.
The car he was talking about, made in China.

Whole reason I started this thread, don't know anyone with an EV, or experience with an EV.

But, bloke I was talking to has a missus that owns a 'made in China' car and will own a Chinese made EV in the next month or two, and, that's how/why he was explaining the battery.

Don't need to replace the battery, just the metal DVD cases in the c*nt.

Dunno, but, ok, I could handle that.

EV batteries seem to be to expensive, from what I understand.

Need a technician more than a mechanic & car battery's ridiculous.

F*ckin like the idea of not paying for petrol tho.

But, just don't like the idea of highway patrol being able to press a button & make my car pull over/stop/switch off.

Don't know anyone I could ask about this subject, hence, this post ...

Yeah, or, just ask people that already know.
Typing's waaay easier than reading.
*shrug*
Simple solution.
If that is your opinion, you will never learn anything constructive for yourself.

I am beginning to think that you are just a troll who is taking the piss by asking the same questions over and over, and posting the same comments over and over, and we are being just as much the same by replying trying to 'help' you understand.

WOFT, I give up.

Not like I don't. I've emailed/contacted Toyota, engineer(s) & I've googled EVs more than I care about. Waiting. When I know, you'll know.

Nah, not trolling, honest question.
Don't own an EV, or anyone that does.
So, google/forum it is.

... need to relax bro.

2025 Hilux Revo BEV: Apparently not an EV, it's basically a hybrid.
So ya don't need to worry about 10 grand battery.
Just talked to the Toyota dealership, waiting for an email with specs/details/links.
Approximately $75 grand.

Before I found out about the new Hilux Revo BEV, was looking into a battery powered 4x4 made in England: $200,000.

My boss had a hybrid lexus. He was told to get rid of it after 8 years, As the performance starts to fail around that timeframe

BEV is Battery Electric Vehicle.

Not hybrid.

Aren’t they pretty much the same hybrid system as in the Prius, Corolla and RAV4? It’s bulletproof.
