Hi All,
I have a VS 1995 S Pack 5Litre ute.
To start the engine, I need to press the button on the fob before turning otherwise nothing happens as the immoboliser is the cause.
When I press the button the interior light comes on, the flashing light goes off and then I can start the engine as mentioned above.
Now someone has tried to install Central locking into the ute, but didn't know much about central locking as they only put in a normal actuator in the driver's door and one in the passenger' door. The ute also had an alarm in it as well, which I have removed as it wasn't 100% working properly.
The ute is now as factory in that sense. Except the question I am asking about is, do VS Utes Series 1 models come out with central locking from factory?
Part that I am also wanting to know does it sound right that you just can't put the key in and start the engine as I thought the metal contacts on the ignition would read the key and then start.
I am going to install another alarm into the ute, I am concerned how this upgrade alarm is going to work as when you press the button once, the light comes on, the security light goes off, but you press it again nothing happens. Blinkers don't flash either.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
